If you are (or were) …
or would just like to help out, we have a role for you!
The Queensland Air Museum is a completely volunteer run not-for-profit organisation which has been operating for more than 50 years.
We curate the largest and most diverse collection of historic aircraft in Australia along with aero-engines, artefacts, artworks, photographs, books and more. We are the second oldest aviation museum in Australia and are a key component of the Sunshine Coast Tourism industry, attracting more than 25,000 visitors a year.
The Museum is not only the largest aviation museum in Australia, but also a highly regarded museum amongst educators, historians, current and ex-military personnel, air cadets, locals, and
domestic and international tourists.
Our goal is to collect and preserve all aspects of aviation heritage, with special emphasis on Australia and Queensland, and to exhibit the collection for the enrichment of the community.
In preparation for the future, we are going through a period of renewal and professionalisation and are looking for motivated volunteers to join our team and share this future with us.
You don’t need to know a lot about aviation, just have an interest. We encourage both women and men of all ages to join us. Our supervisors ensure that you will work in a safe environment.
We supply personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves, masks and hearing protection.
We work in a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.
